School Shootings

On Wikipedia a school shooting is defined as "an occurrence in which gun violence takes place at an educational institution. A school shooting involves a firearm being discharged at a school infrastructure, and may refer to incidents of shootings on a school bus or near school property while school is in session."

Here you can find a list of school shootings in the US, also from Wikipedia, where you can see how many people were killed and, in some cases, what happened to the perpetrators.

Michael moore Michael Moore - who is he?

Who are the "Founding Fathers"?


The Founding Fathers of the United States of America were political leaders and statesmen who participated in the American Revolution by signing the United States Declaration of Independence, taking part in the American Revolutionary War, and establishing the United States Constitution.

The following seven figures are usually talked about as the key Founding Fathers: John AdamsBenjamin FranklinAlexander HamiltonJohn JayThomas JeffersonJames Madison, and George Washington.

The Declaration of Independence


The Declaration of Independence is a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which announced that the 13 American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, regarded themselves as independent states, and no longer a part of the British Empire. Instead they formed a union that would become a new nation—the United States of America. 

The second sentence in the declaration is very famous.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
This has been called "one of the best-known sentences in the English language", containing "the most potent and consequential words in American history." The passage came to represent a moral standard to which the United States should strive.

Rockefeller Center at Christmas
Rockefeller center is a tall famous building in New York in the United States. Millions of tourists visit the Rockefeller Christmas Tree every year. Traditionally the tree is lit on the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving. This year that is Wednesday December 4th.
